 2025 Tourism Budget– The government wants to establish India as a leading international destination for both leisure and medical tourism by implementing a combination of visa changes, destination development, and travel with a healthcare focus.

The government will implement visa waivers for specific foreign tourist groups in a significant effort to draw in more foreign visitors. The goal of this project is to streamline the admission procedure, increasing India’s accessibility and allure for tourists from around the world. The government intends to increase tourism earnings by lowering visa requirements in order to take advantage of India’s many historical, cultural, and natural attractions.

The government announced intentions to promote medical tourism under the “Heal in India” campaign in recognition of India’s rising reputation in the healthcare industry. The government aims to boost India’s standing as a global center for medical and wellness tourism by streamlining visa requirements for medical tourists and enhancing healthcare facilities.

With Rs 1,900 crore set aside for the Integrated construction of Tourism Circuits under the Swadesh Darshan plan, a significant amount of the ministry’s budget will be directed towards the construction of tourism infrastructure. The goal of this project is to develop theme-based tourism circuits that encourage competitive, high-value, and sustainable travel.

In addition, the Northeastern region has received Rs 240 crore to support the development of tourism infrastructure, while the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has received Rs 70.42 crore and Kumarakom Frontier Hotels Pvt Ltd has received Rs 10 crore to improve tourism infrastructure in important destinations.
